“You could run from someone you feared, you could try to fight someone you hated …[but]… When you loved the one who was killing you, it left you no options.”

Bella Swan, Twilight – Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer

I think it is true to say that Vampires have become extremely fashionable over the last few years, think Twilight, True Blood and The Vampire Diaries as well as the Fall 09/10 trends of Glam Grunge/ Goth. Although I have always been slightly seduced by vampish inspired dressing, I have been rather late in jumping on the Twilight bandwagon. That was however until I got the first book in my stocking for Christmas, and now I too have fallen under the Twilight spell.

So as a huge fan of the Glam Grunge/ Goth trends and as a new fan of Twilight, I felt that this would be the perfect time to explore how to recreate the look.

1) Mary-Kate Olsen

2) Taylor Momsen

1) Embellishment – beads, sequins and studs.

2) Textures – lace and mesh, hosiery, velvet, leather, and silk. Distressed fabrics – ripped denim, frayed edging and faded prints.

3) Kohl pencils and liquid eyeliner, smoky eyes – grey/ silver and black, or midnight blue and purple and false effect eyelashes. Red lips and red/ black/ midnight blue/ purple nails.

*Top tip: You Tube Pixiwoo or have a browse through Topshop makeup to find videos on how to create your perfect smoky eye.
