Tim Burton’s long-awaited Alice in Wonderland finally hit our cinemas this week, leaving film fanatics in a frenzy. The modern adaptation tells the story of Alice’s return to the magical world in a quest to end the Red Queen’s reign of terror. However fashion houses and high street stores also seem to have gone a bit crazy for fantasy inspired collections, jewellery and make up.

To celebrate the films release let’s get out the dressing up box and host our very own Alice tea party…

The Dress

Versus A/W 2010

Versus was born out of a fusion between Christopher Kane and Versace, highlighting the key techniques from both labels. Black, red and blue were the key colours (your perfect Alice colour palette) for the Versus fall 2010 collection this year which saw futuristic detailing mixed with fabrics such as satin, chiffon and velvet, emphasising femininity with a twist.

Get dressed up and pampered with ASOS’ key tips on shopping for Alice’s look, or read an interview with Colleen Atwood who designed the film’s costumes.

You can also pick up Paul & Joe’s limited edition Alice In Wonderland compact for £25.

Miss. Selfridge are also in the early stages of launching their own t.shirt and vest Alice In Wonderland collection, visit for more information and to put your name down for the chance to win a shopping spree, makeover and photo shoot.

Tea And Cake

Lorraine Pascale used to work alongside Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, however the former face of Versace and Donna Karen is now the official celebration cake supplier for Selfridges for the festive season. Ranging from mini, regular and couture cupcakes to vanilla, chocolate, and carrot cakes, all with equal frosting, you are unlikely to go hungry.
